The Canadian Micromobility Alliance

The Canadian Micromobility Alliance is a group of Electric Scooter and Micromobility retailers from across Canada. We are dedicated to standardizing Micromobility safety equipment, developing training programs, and improving laws for Electric Scooter riders with privately owned devices. We believe Micromobility devices like e-scooters represent an equitable leap forward for citizens of Canadian cities. Our products help reduce car usage and provide valuable last-mile solutions that help reduce road congestion and the environmental impact of ICE vehicles.

The Alliance’s Projects

Standardized Electric Scooter Training

Electric Scooters and other Micromobility Devices come pre-built with bells, front lights and rear lights. However, just like a bicycle, learning to ride + the rules of the road is incredibly important.

We are developing Canada’s first Standardized Electric Scooter Training Program. This program will ensure that all retailers, both Brick & Mortar + online, deliver valuable training modules to their customers.

Insurance for Electric Scooters and Other Micromobility Devices

Currently in Canada a standalone Liability Insurance product doesn’t exist for Micromobility users. We’ve partnered with Allegory Insurance and Scoot Safe Toronto to develop an Insurance Product for Canadian Electric Scooter riders.

Advocating for Inclusive Municipal, Provincial, and Federal Legislation

While many Provinces and Municipalities across Canada have adopted friendly legislation for private owners of Electric Scooters – we believe Electric Scooters should be legal to own and ride across the country.

Our efforts are focused on:

– Developing standardized language with Transport Canada
– Advocating for Provincial E-Scooter Pilots
